2012: A Reflection

It’s going to be 2013 in 5 hours. And I’m sitting here thinking about everything that has transpired this past year. I hit the highest of highs, not without rolling over some potholes here and there.

This year, I learned about how to interact with others, even those who literally do not want to see you succeed. I also relied on the kindness of some amazing strangers who turned out to become great friends (like the Streetcar reference?). I had the opportunity to work with one of the best PR Firms in the world and got some pretty great memories and experiences out of it (See this and this post). Lastly, I finally told my parents I’m not going to Med School and completed my Biology and Chemistry minors. I finished the first two acts of a screenplay and am in the finishing stages of my thesis. So, a lot has gone down this past year.

None of this would have been possible without my family and “family” of friends. Whether it be picking up the phone at 1:30 a.m. and helping me figure out my next decision, or just taking my mind off of the craziness and chaos that usually surrounds me. Y’all are there for me through and through, and for that, I am truly thankful.

Here’s to the new year. It’ll be difficult, but life isn’t worth living if it is too easy. Thanks for everything, friends!
